Christie Library Spring Newsletter

Greetings from the Library Team, isn’t it starting to feel like Spring?

In that case, it is time for an update on some of the recent library happenings.

  • Nurse Prescribing has changed it’s name to Journal of Prescribing Practice.
  • A reminder that a new journal for 2019 is JCO: Precision Medicine – you can browse the articles here via Browzine – You have access to many hundreds of journals. Do ask us if you can’t find what you need, sometimes you just need to look in a different place and we are here to troubleshoot for you.
  • We have bought dozens of new book titles – many of which we have tweeted about, but please do come and have a browse or drop us an email if you are need of something.
  • There will be a few changes to the databases you can use to do literature searching in HDAS from 1st April. Health Business Elite (HBE) will no longer be available. Ovid Emcare will added, which is a nursing and allied health database ideal for practice, research, or education.
  • In conjunction with the recent Health and Wellbeing event, Mary is organising another Randomised Coffee Trial, email library@christie.nhs.uk to be matched up with someone random in the Trust, and go for a coffee! This is a great opportunity to meet someone you may never encounter in your day to day role, and find out more about what goes on in the hospital.
  • Our book group has now met twice, the next meeting is on 2nd May 2019, details below.
