It outlines national and local approaches to prevention policy in England, as well as Scotland, Wales, and Northern Ireland. It does so by considering the strategies of the UK Government, as well as the devolved administrations, through the lens of various policy perspectives.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Joint working protocol: when a hospital, services or facility closes at short notice &#8211;\u00a0NHS England\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/joint-working-protocol-when-a-hospital-services-or-facility-closes-at-short-notice\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">guidance <\/a>aims to\u00a0gives clear guidance and direction to any organisation involved in a short notice closure to take appropriate and timely action in supporting patients and making sure they get the care and treatment they deserve.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Evidence review of e-cigarettes and heated tobacco products &#8211;\u00a0Public Health England (PHE)<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/679262\/Evidence_review_of_e-cigarettes_and_heated_tobacco_products_2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">evidence review <\/a>provides an update on the findings of PHE&#8217;s 2015 report on e-cigarette use, public attitudes, the impact on quitting smoking, the risks to health and the role of nicotine. It finds that there are substantial health benefits in switching from smoking to vaping and estimates that at least 20,000 people are quitting smoking year due to e-cigarette usage.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>In and out of hospital &#8211;\u00a0British Red Cross<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"http:\/\/www.redcross.org.uk\/~\/media\/BritishRedCross\/Documents\/About%20us\/In%20and%20out%20of%20hospital%20report.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report\u00a0<\/a>proposes introducing automatic home assessments and other simple interventions for elderly and vulnerable people who are often admitted to hospital to reduce avoidable hospital admissions in vulnerable patients.
