{"id":10587,"date":"2018-03-13T11:52:04","date_gmt":"2018-03-13T11:52:04","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/?p=10587"},"modified":"2018-03-13T11:52:04","modified_gmt":"2018-03-13T11:52:04","slug":"knowledge-lert-for-tuesday-13th-march","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/2018\/03\/13\/knowledge-lert-for-tuesday-13th-march\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge @lert for Tuesday 13th March"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Delayed transfers of care improvement tool<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NHS Improvement has published a beta version of the <a href=\"https:\/\/improvement.nhs.uk\/resources\/delayed-transfer-care-dtoc-improvement-tool\/\">Delayed transfer of care (DTOC) improvement tool<\/a>.\u00a0 This tool has been developed to enable trusts, CCGs and local authorities to understand where delayed transfers of care are in their area or system.\u00a0 It brings together data into a dashboard which, as well as showing where their biggest delays are, also allows users to track the progress of any actions.\u00a0\u00a0<span style=\"color: #ff0000;\"><em>To note: the tool is under beta testing for two weeks and should not be used for decision making.<\/em><\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Quality Premium 2016\/17 performance<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NHS England has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/quality-premium-2016-17-performance\/\">Quality Premium Awards 2016\/17<\/a>.\u00a0 This document shows how CCGs performed against the Quality Premium Scheme indicators for 2016\/17.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Clostridium difficile infection objectives<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NHS Improvement has published <a href=\"https:\/\/improvement.nhs.uk\/resources\/clostridium-difficile-infection-objectives\/\">Clostridium difficile infection objectives for NHS organisations in 2018\/19, guidance on sanction implementation and notification of changes to case attribution definitions from 2019<\/a>.\u00a0 This document sets out the objectives for acute trusts and CCGs to make continuous improvement in Clostridium difficile infection care.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Cost of branded medicines<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Department of Health and Social Care has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/consultations\/statutory-scheme-to-control-cost-of-branded-medicines-consultation\">Consultation response: proposed changes to the statutory scheme to control the cost of branded health service medicines<\/a>.\u00a0 The government has published its response to the consultation on proposed changes to the statutory scheme that controls the prices of branded health service medicines.\u00a0 The government made some changes to its proposals in response to issues \/ concerns raised by respondents.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NHS performance monitoring<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The King\u2019s Fund has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingsfund.org.uk\/publications\/how-nhs-performing-march-2018\">How is the NHS performing? March 2018 quarterly monitoring report<\/a>.\u00a0 This quarterly report finds more patients are facing long waits for hospital treatment, with those experiencing the longest waits often most in need of treatment.\u00a0 As demand for services continues to rise it&#8217;s very unlikely that meeting waiting time targets will become more achievable, with implications for how the NHS protects patients waiting the longest.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Employee engagement, sickness absence and agency spend<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>NHS England has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/employee-engagement-sickness-absence-and-agency-spend-in-nhs-trusts\/\">Employee engagement, sickness absence and agency spend in NHS trusts<\/a>.\u00a0 This report examines the relationship between staff engagement, sickness absence and reliance upon temporary staffing in NHS trusts.
