NHS Improvement<\/strong><br \/>\nWe\u2019ve designed <a href=\"https:\/\/improvement.nhs.uk\/resources\/aspiring-chief-operating-officer-programme\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">this programme<\/a> with Ashridge Executive Education to help develop up to 25 senior professionals from inside or possibly outside the NHS to be ready to take on a chief operating officer (COO) role within the next 12 to 18 months.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Improving cardiothoracic surgery<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Getting It Right First Time (GRIFT) programme has published <a href=\"http:\/\/gettingitrightfirsttime.co.uk\/cardiothoracic-surgery-report\/\">Cardiothoracic surgery: GRIFT Programme National Specialty Report<\/a>.\u00a0 This report is the result of an outcomes data review of cardiothoracic surgery combined with insight from clinicians and managers who deliver the service.\u00a0 It suggests smarter bed management and using designated specialist teams for key cardiothoracic surgery procedures will help deliver better outcomes.\u00a0 The report makes 20 recommendations to improve practice, process and outcomes.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Infectious diseases in pregnancy screening standards<\/strong><br \/>\nPublic Health England has updated <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/infectious-diseases-in-pregnancy-screening-programme-standards\">Infectious diseases in pregnancy screening standards<\/a>.\u00a0 These revised national standards for the NHS infectious diseases in pregnancy standards programme (IDPS).\u00a0 The IDPS supports health professionals and commissioners in providing a high quality screening programme.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Dementia support guide<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Local Government Association has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local.gov.uk\/dementia-support-guide-councils\">Dementia: post diagnosis support<\/a>.\u00a0 This publication highlights examples of good practice by local authorities and their partners relating to post diagnostic care for people with dementia.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>COPD National Audit Programme<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership has published the following documents relating to the National Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease Audit:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/www.hqip.org.uk\/resources\/copd-national-organisational-audit-report-april-2018-pulmonary-rehabilitation-an-exercise-in-improvement\/\">COPD: time to integrate care<\/a> &#8211; summarises findings of the second round of pulmonary rehabilitation component of the National COPD Audit Programme.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Integrated commissioning for better outcomes<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Local Government Association and NHS Clinical Commissioners have published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local.gov.uk\/icbo\">Integrated commissioning for better outcomes: a commissioning framework<\/a>.\u00a0 This framework is intended as a practical tool in the support of improving outcomes through integrated commissioning.\u00a0 The four domains (building the foundations;
