{"id":11146,"date":"2018-04-27T13:30:34","date_gmt":"2018-04-27T12:30:34","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/?p=11146"},"modified":"2018-04-27T13:30:34","modified_gmt":"2018-04-27T12:30:34","slug":"knowledge-lert-for-friday-27th-april","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/2018\/04\/27\/knowledge-lert-for-friday-27th-april\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge @lert for Friday 27th April"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NHS Trust Development Authority (HSIB Maternity Investigations) Directions 2018 &#8211;\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><strong>Department of Health and Social Care\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nIt was announced in November 2017 that the Healthcare Safety Investigations Branch (HSIB) would investigate all cases of early neonatal deaths, term intrapartum stillbirths and cases of severe brain injury in babies in England and all cases of maternal death in England. <a href=\"https:\/\/assets.publishing.service.gov.uk\/government\/uploads\/system\/uploads\/attachment_data\/file\/702938\/NHS_Trust_Development_Authority__HSIB__Directions_2018.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">These directions come into effect on 30 April 2018<\/a> and cover HSIB\u2019s additional functions and duties in carrying out maternity investigations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Facing the future audit 2017: standards for acute general paediatric services &#8211;\u00a0Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcpch.ac.uk\/system\/files\/protected\/page\/PDF%20Facing%20the%20Future%20audit%202017%20-%20report%20(April%202018).pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report <\/a>highlights the struggle hospitals face to meet standards that provide children with high quality, safe and consistent healthcare. It calls on the government to expand the consultant workforce to help units increase consultant presence at peak times and improve the standard of hospital care.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Lord Darzi review of health and care: interim report<\/strong><br \/>\nIPPR has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.ippr.org\/research\/publications\/darzi-review-interim-report\">The Lord Darzi review of health and care: interim report.<\/a>\u00a0 This report sets out evidence of what has happened to the quality of health and social care and how readily people can access the care they need.\u00a0 It explores health and social care funding and makes an assessment of the impact of the reforms to the sector.
