{"id":14059,"date":"2020-02-07T11:21:59","date_gmt":"2020-02-07T11:21:59","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/?p=14059"},"modified":"2020-02-07T11:21:59","modified_gmt":"2020-02-07T11:21:59","slug":"knowledge-lert-for-friday-7th-february","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.lihnnhs.info\/Sando\/2020\/02\/07\/knowledge-lert-for-friday-7th-february\/","title":{"rendered":"Knowledge @lert for Friday 7th February"},"content":{"rendered":"<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NHS Operational Planning and Contracting Guidance 2020\/21<\/strong><br \/>\nThis NHS Operational Planning and Contracting Guidance 2020\/21 <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/nhs-operational-planning-and-contracting-guidance-2020-21\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">covers system planning, full operational plan requirements, details of workforce transformation requirements, the financial settlement and the process and timescales<\/a> around the submission of plans that the NHS must plan to do during 2020\/21.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Thinking differently about commissioning<\/strong><br \/>\nThe King\u2019s Fund has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.kingsfund.org.uk\/publications\/thinking-differently-commissioning\">Thinking differently about commissioning: learning from new approaches to local planning<\/a>.\u00a0 This report aims to understand the approach being taken by some CCGs and local systems that are rethinking the role of commissioning; draw out learning for other areas as they work to change their approach; and explore the national policy implications of this new way of working and what national NHS bodies can do to support its development.\u00a0 It is based around two CCGs (South Tyneside and Tameside and Glossop) and one group of CCGs (Bradford district and Craven).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Commissioning liaison psychiatry services<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Centre for Mental Health has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.centreformentalhealth.org.uk\/commissioning-liaison-psychiatry-services\">Commissioning liaison psychiatry services<\/a>.\u00a0 The research in this report sought to identify the challenges faced by commissioners of liaison psychiatry services, and to see if these challenges were shared by hospital managers and mental health clinicians working within the services.\u00a0 The report outlines a number of recommendations, including calls for acute hospitals to take a thorough audit of all mental health provision, and to adopt the outcome measurement framework proposed by Royal College of Psychiatrists.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Population health management<\/strong><br \/>\nNHS England and NHS Improvement have published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.england.nhs.uk\/publication\/phm-understanding-how-integrated-care-systems-are-using-population-health-management-to-improve-health-and-wellbeing\/\">Population Health Management: Understanding how integrated care systems are using population health management to improve health and wellbeing<\/a>.\u00a0 This document briefly summarises four case studies covering: identifying and supporting people with poor housing and poor health (Blackpool); using data to identify frailty (Leeds); seeing the link between physical and mental health Bournemouth); and targeted support for communities with poorer outcomes (Berkshire West).<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Adult social care: impact on the NHS<\/strong><br \/>\nNHS Providers has published <a href=\"https:\/\/nhsproviders.org\/resource-library\/briefings\/parliamentary-debate-nhs-performance-and-the-impact-of-adult-social-care-pressures\">Parliamentary debate: NHS performance and the impact of adult social care pressures<\/a>.\u00a0 This briefing aims to inform the parliamentary debate taking place in the House of Lords on 6 February 2020.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Evaluating digital health products<\/strong><br \/>\nPublic Health England has published resources regarding <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/collections\/evaluating-digital-health-products\">evaluating digital health products<\/a>.\u00a0 These resources are for anyone developing or running a digital health product to conduct an evaluation.\u00a0 Digital health products can take different forms \u2013 for example, a service, campaign or other intervention; they might be provided through an app or website.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Children and young people\u2019s emotional wellbeing<\/strong><br \/>\nThe Local Government Agency has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.local.gov.uk\/building-resilience-how-local-partnerships-are-supporting-children-and-young-peoples-mental-health\">Building resilience: how local partnerships are supporting children and young people&#8217;s mental health and emotional wellbeing<\/a>.
