The campaign has created a special guide. Dementia Words Matter, written by people living with dementia that sets out the words and descriptions they would prefer are avoided by the media and other organisations.\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>NICE shared learning: medication monitoring for people with dementia in care homes<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">NICE has added a new case study to its shared learning database <a href=\"http:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/sharedlearning\/medication-monitoring-for-people-with-dementia-in-care-homes-clinical-impact-of-nurse-led-monitoring\">Medication Monitoring for People with Dementia in Care Homes: Clinical Impact of Nurse-led monitoring<\/a>\u00a0\u00a0 Published by Swansea University, this study aimed to test whether the nurse-led West Wales Adverse Drug Reaction (WWADR) Profile for Mental Health Medicines intervention improved care, and patient outcomes, for people with dementia prescribed mental health medicines (antipsychotics, antidepressants, antiepileptics, benzodiazepines).\u00a0\u00a0<\/span><span lang=\"EN-US\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Social care topics: NICE consultation<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p>NICE is asking stakeholders to provide feedback on a set of <a href=\"https:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/news\/article\/consultation-open-on-new-social-care-topics-for-nice\">proposed social care topics<\/a> that are being considered for new NICE guidance and quality standards.\u00a0 The eighteen topics include safeguarding in care homes, adoption in looked after children and young people, and support for carers.\u00a0\u00a0 Stakeholders are also being invited to suggest additional topics that have not been considered. The consultation closes on Friday 9 October 2015.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Choosing to have a caesarean section: patient information<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The Royal College of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists has published patient information relating to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.rcog.org.uk\/en\/patients\/patient-leaflets\/choosing-to-have-a-caesarean-section\/\">Choosing to have a caesarean section<\/a>.\u00a0 This information is aimed at those women who are considering having a baby by a \u2018planned\u2019 or \u2018elective\u2019 caesarean section when there isn\u2019t a \u2018medical\u2019 reason to do so.\u00a0 The information outlines: who they should speak to if they are thinking about having a caesarean section;\u00a0 what a caesarean will mean for them and your baby; the effect it may have on future births; the benefits of having a vaginal birth and what happens if they go into labour before the planned date of an elective caesarean.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\"><strong>Consolidated guidelines on HIV testing services<\/strong><\/span><\/p>\n<p><span lang=\"EN-US\">WHO has published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.who.int\/hiv\/pub\/guidelines\/hiv-testing-services\/en\/\">Consolidated guidelines on HIV testing services<\/a>.
