This report has been produced by an independent Primary Care Workforce Commission with the remit to identify solutions that would meet the present and future primary care needs of the NHS.\u00a0 It sets out the Commission\u2019s thinking which includes calling for greater collaboration across organisations and a broader range of staff involved in the delivery of healthcare.<br \/>\nAdditional links: <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.rcgp.org.uk\/news\/2015\/july\/rcgp-response-to-the-roland-commission-report-on-primary-care-workforce.aspx\">RCGP press release<\/a><\/strong>\u00a0\u00a0 <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cchsr.iph.cam.ac.uk\/2498\">Cambridge Centre for health service research<\/a><br \/>\n<\/strong><\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Using incentives to improve experiences in maternity, children and young people\u2019s services<br \/>\n<\/strong>NHS South East Commissioning Support Unit has published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.southeastcsu.nhs.uk\/Pages\/News\/CQUIN-report.aspx\">Using incentives to improve experience in maternity, children and young people\u2019s services<\/a>.\u00a0 Commissioned by NHS England, this report examines how financial incentives are being used across the country to improve the experience of maternity, children and young people&#8217;s services.\u00a0 It identifies three core recommendations to develop and evaluate the impact of CQUINs and other financial incentives.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness<br \/>\n<\/strong>The University of Manchester&#8217;s has published the results from the <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hqip.org.uk\/NCISH-annual-report-2015\/\">National Confidential Inquiry into Suicide and Homicide by People with Mental Illness<\/a>.\u00a0 This report highlights that there has been a 29% rise in suicide since 2006 among men under the care of mental health services in the UK. The largest rise was seen in middle aged men, 45-54 years old, in whom the increase has been 73%. The report suggests that alcohol and economic factors such as job loss and debt may be contributing to the rise.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Accident and Emergency statistics<br \/>\n<\/strong>The House of Commons library has published a briefing paper <a href=\"http:\/\/researchbriefings.parliament.uk\/ResearchBriefing\/Summary\/SN06964\">Accident and Emergency Statistics<\/a>.\u00a0 This briefing provides summaries and visualisations of a wide range of A&amp;E trends, including: levels of attendance over time; attendance by age, time and day of the week; various measures of waiting times; and reason for attendance. It also explores the extent and limitations of the available data sources.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>MenB vaccine and paracetamol use<br \/>\n<\/strong>Public Health England has published <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/menb-vaccine-and-paracetamol\">Information about the MenB vaccine and paracetamol use<\/a>.\u00a0 This information leaflet informs parents of the increased risk of fever when MenB vaccine is given alongside other immunisations at 2 and 4 months of age, and recommends having paracetamol at home in advance of immunisation appointments to reduce the risk of fever.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>NICE Quality Standards<br \/>\n<\/strong>NICE has published the following quality standards:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/guidance\/qs94\">Obesity: prevention and lifestyle weight management in children and young people<\/a> (QS94)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/guidance\/qs95\">Bipolar disorder in adults<\/a> (QS95)<\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.nice.org.uk\/guidance\/qs96\">Dyspepsia and gastrooesophageal reflux disease in adults: investigation and management<\/a> (QS96)<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Prevalence of Female Genital Mutilation in England and Wales<br \/>\n<\/strong>The City of London University has published <a href=\"http:\/\/www.city.ac.uk\/__data\/assets\/pdf_file\/0004\/282388\/FGM-statistics-final-report-21-07-15-released-text.pdf\">Prevalence of Female Genital Mutilation in England and Wales: national and local estimates<\/a>. This report contains estimates of the numbers of women with female genital mutilation (FGM) living in England and Wales, the numbers of women with FGM giving birth and the numbers of girls born to women with FGM. The report contains estimates at a local authority level.
