It highlights with certainty that future decisions to purchase and use drugs, particularly when on a mass scale, must be based on a complete picture of the evidence, both published and unpublished.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/onlinelibrary.wiley.com\/doi\/10.1002\/14651858.CD008965.pub4\/abstract\" target=\"_blank\">Cochrane Review<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cochrane.org\/features\/tamiflu-relenza-how-effective-are-they\" target=\"_blank\">Press release<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Eyes on Evidence<br \/>\n<\/strong>April&#8217;s edition of\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.evidence.nhs.uk\/about-evidence-services\/bulletins-and-alerts\/eyes-on-evidence\/eyes-on-evidence-2014\">Eyes on Evidence<\/a>\u00a0has been published by NICE. It includes the following items:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>E-cigarette awareness and use to quit smoking<\/li>\n<li>Beta-2 agonists and exercise-induced asthma<\/li>\n<li>Blood pressure control with home telemononitoring and pharmacist management<\/li>\n<li>Risk factors for congenital abnormalities<\/li>\n<li>Antidepressant use late in pregnancy and risk of postpartum haemorrhage<\/li>\n<li>CT scans in childhood or adolescence and risk of cancer<\/li>\n<li>Evidence Updates<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>How the CQC inspect, rate and regulate health and social care services &#8211; a consultation<\/strong><br \/>\nThe CQC are <a href=\"http:\/\/kingsfund.blogs.com\/health_management\/2014\/04\/how-the-cqc-inspect-rate-and-regulate-health-and-social-care-services-a-consultation.html\" target=\"_blank\">asking people who use and run health and adult social care services<\/a> as well as the public to gather opinion on their plans for regulating, inspecting and rating care services. The consultation will be open until 4th June 2014.<\/p>\n<div>\n<ul>\n<li><a href=\"https:\/\/webdataforms.cqc.org.uk\/Checkbox\/CQCInspectionChanges.aspx\" target=\"_blank\">Online feedback form<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cqc.org.uk\/public\/get-involved\/consultations\/consultation-how-we-regulate-inspect-and-rate-services\" target=\"_blank\">Consultation documents<\/a><\/li>\n<li><a href=\"http:\/\/www.cqc.org.uk\/public\/news\/tell-us-what-you-think-our-new-approach-regulating-inspecting-and-rating-care-services\" target=\"_blank\">CQC &#8211; news<\/a><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>Guidance policies and principles of healthcare engineering (HTM 00)<\/strong><br \/>\nHTM 00, provides specific advice and <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/guidance-policies-and-principles-of-healthcare-engineering\" target=\"_blank\">guidance <\/a>on the design, installation and effective operation of a healthcare facility from an engineering technology perspective.\u00a0<span style=\"line-height: 1.714285714; font-size: 1rem;\">It is not intended to cover every possible scenario, for example the concept of \u201chospital at home\u201d (in a domestic dwelling). The standards and principles it advocates may be appropriate to follow in all locations where healthcare is provided. This 2014 edition supersedes all previous versions of HTM 00.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div>\n<p><strong>Transparency of clinical trials data\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0The Parliamentary Office of Science and Technology\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nResults from many clinical trials are not published or made available.
