Updated by HQIP in consultation with CQC, NHS England, NAGCAE, NHS Improvement \u2013 Healthcare Quality Improvement Partnership\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\n<a href=\"http:\/\/allcatsrgrey.org.uk\/wp\/download\/governance\/clinical_governance\/FINAL_Detection-and-management-of-outliers-for-National-Clinical-Audit-2017-HQIP-NAGCAE-NHSE-CQC-NHSI.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">This guidance <\/a>updates the 2011 Department of Health guidance \u2018Detection and Management of Outliers for National Clinical Audits. It explains the expectations required of national clinical audit providers and healthcare provider organisations in relation to the identification of outliers by national clinical audits.\u00a0The primary changes compared to the 2011 guidance are:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>NCA providers to notify the Care Quality Commission of any confirmed alarm level outliers identified by the audit<\/li>\n<li>NCA providers to notify the Care Quality Commission and NHS Improvement of any healthcare provider organisations that fail to respond appropriately (as described by the guidance) to notification of confirmed alarm level outlier status<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Revalidation Quarterly Report: Year 1, Quarter 4 \u2013 January To March 2017 \u2013 Nursing and Midwifery Council\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"http:\/\/allcatsrgrey.org.uk\/wp\/download\/governance\/clinical_governance_2\/revalidation-report-jan-mar-2017.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">report <\/a>comes at the end of the first year of revalidation and it demonstrates that revalidation has been successful with over 48,000 nurses and midwives who have continued to renew their registration over 2016-17. Throughout the final quarter of the year, 93 per cent who were due to revalidate have done so successfully.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Provision of community care: who, what, how much? \u2013 The Health Foundation\u00a0\u00a0<\/strong><br \/>\nThis <a href=\"http:\/\/allcatsrgrey.org.uk\/wp\/download\/commissioning\/ProvisionOfCommunityCare-FINAL_2.pdf\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener\">briefing <\/a>analyses information on the community care contracts held by 78% of\u00a0clinical commissioning groups (CCGs) in England to enable better understanding of the provision of these services.<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Increasing the use of community care \u2013 which currently accounts for about \u00a31 in every \u00a310 spent by health care commissioners in England \u2013 relative to acute care has been a policy priority for almost as long as there has been an NHS.<\/li>\n<li>In recent years, spending on community care delivered by non-NHS providers has increased substantially \u2013 and faster than in any other any area of NHS care. But surprisingly little is known about who is providing these services, or the size and scope of the contracts.<\/li>\n<li>Finds that NHS providers hold over half (53%) of the total annual value of contracts awarded for community services.
