The outcomes are set in terms of the impact for patients, users of services and carers.\u00a0The framework will be used to measure improvements in education, training and workforce development and the impact on the quality and safety of services for patients.\u00a0The \u2018Education Outcomes Framework Indicators Technical Guidance 2013\/14\u2019 provides detail of each of the education outcome indicators and a summary of information for indicators that require further development. These build on the two priority areas identified in 2012 to 2013 of ensuring safe supervision and improving Board level engagement in education, training and workforce development.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Major shake up of Health Education England revealed\u00a0&#8211; HSJ Article\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Health Education England is planning a <a href=\"http:\/\/www.hsj.co.uk\/news\/exclusive-major-shake-up-of-health-education-england-revealed\/5072396.article?referrer=RSS\" target=\"_blank\">\u2018drastic\u2019 reorganisation<\/a> to slash its \u00a385m running costs by 20 per cent.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Understanding the new NHS: a guide for everyone working and training within the NHS\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0NHS England<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This <a href=\"http:\/\/kingsfund.blogs.com\/health_management\/2014\/06\/understanding-the-new-nhs-a-guide-for-everyone-working-and-training-within-the-nhs.html\" target=\"_blank\">guide <\/a>outlines the organisations, systems and processes that define, sustain and regulate the NHS.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Protecting health and care information: a consultation on proposals to introduce new regulations\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Department of Health<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>The government is seeking views on <a href=\"http:\/\/kingsfund.blogs.com\/health_management\/2014\/06\/protecting-health-and-care-information-a-consultation-on-proposals-to-introduce-new-regulations.html\" target=\"_blank\">proposals to strengthen controls and safeguards on the use of an individual\u2019s health and care data<\/a>. This document proposes allowing a number of local organisations, to create secure safe havens, that will have access under strong controls to information from peoples\u2019 personal care records which could be used to identify an individual. These safe havens will need to be accredited by the Secretary of State for Health. The consultation closes on 8th August 2014.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Focus on the health and care of older people\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Health &amp; Social Care Information Centre (HSCIC)\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>This statistical <a href=\"http:\/\/kingsfund.blogs.com\/health_management\/2014\/06\/focus-on-the-health-and-care-of-older-people.html\" target=\"_blank\">report <\/a>aims to broaden insight into the health and care of people aged 65 or over in England. It also explores use of health and social care services among older people and gives insight into the impact an ageing population has on these services and how this compares to previous generations.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Independent report: Use of CT scanning to carry out individual health assessments\u00a0&#8211;\u00a0Department of Health<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>CT scanning uses X-rays and specialised software to create cross-sectional images of the body. The members of the expert working party who authored this <a href=\"https:\/\/www.gov.uk\/government\/publications\/use-of-ct-scanning-to-carry-out-individual-health-assessments\" target=\"_blank\">report <\/a>were recruited by the Royal College of Radiologists and the Royal College of Physicians.
