Slowing progression of, rather than stopping,\u00a0Alzheimer’s disease\u00a0has measurable benefits for patients and families and may be a more realistic goal for clinical drug trials, a new report by the American Alzheimer’s Association has suggested.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The report<\/a>‘s authors call for a “reframing” of how researchers define “clinically meaningful” in randomized controlled trials, adding that they consider it is time to adjust expectations of outcomes from relatively short clinical trials.<\/p>\n\n\n\n The report was published by an expert work group convened by the Alzheimer’s Association.
