UK government’s preparations for a no deal scenario – GOV.UK
The government has today published guidance on how to prepare for Brexit if there’s no deal.  Guidance relating to blood products, regulating medicines and medical equipment includes:

  • Batch testing medicines if there’s no Brexit deal

  • Ensuring blood and blood products are safe if there’s no Brexit deal

  • How medicines, medical devices and clinical trials would be regulated if there’s no Brexit deal

  • Submitting regulatory information on medical products if there’s no Brexit deal

  • Quality and safety of organs, tissues and cells if there’s no Brexit deal


NHS e-Referral Service
NHS Digital has announced that all acute hospital trusts across the north of England have successfully switched to receiving 100% of referrals for first outpatient appointments through the NHS e-Referral Service (e-RS).  A total of 47 hospitals and 2,479 GP practices have now switched.  From 1 October 2018, trusts will only take electronic referrals from GPs.

The Health Quality Improvement Partnership has published Asthma Audit Development Project: final report 2018.  This report provides information on the activities and conclusions of phase 2 of the Asthma Audit Development Project.
