Reducing stress and building resilience in the NHS workforce
Health Education England has published Workforce stress and the supportive organisation – a framework for improvement through reflection, curiosity and change.  This framework aims to help health and social care employers improve the mental wellbeing of their employees.  It challenges employers to give greater consideration to the impact  workforce stress has on staff and look at the role they can play in providing better support to staff who may need It.


Public health e-learning
Public Health England has launched a series of new e-learning tools which offer bite-sized information on key public health issues to help professionals prevent illness, protect health and promote wellbeing.  E-learning tools are now available for cardiovascular disease prevention, adult obesity, antimicrobial resistance, physical activity, social prescribing, giving children the best start in life and supporting those at risk of, or experiencing, homelessness.


Faster Diagnosis Test Sites
NHS England has published Test site top tips: learning from the Faster Diagnosis Standard Test Sites.  This handbook contains tips from the five Faster Diagnosis Standard (FDS) test sites, who worked collaboratively with NHS England to: test and develop the rules for the faster diagnosis standard for cancer; explore impact on patients and the clinical services of delivering the new standard; and develop and streamline their own services, and implement best practice pathways.


Same Day Emergency Care
NHS Improvement has published a new section on its website relating to Same day emergency care.  The information provided explains what same day emergency care (SDEC) is and how it works as well as including links to useful resources.


NICE Shared Learning
NICE has published the following Shared Learning case studies relating to the implementation of NICE guidance:

  • Dramatherapy in Early Intervention in Psychosis – Leeds and York
  • Development of Black and minority ethnic (BME) patient-centred dietary resources to improve hyperkalaemia in chronic kidney disease patients – BDA Renal Nutrition Group

  • Improving foot care outcomes for people with diabetes in Wessex – Wessex Cardiovascular Clinical Network
  • NICE Guidance and Quality Standard Assurance: A process change to improve effectiveness and efficiency –  East Sussex Healthcare
  • New opportunities for the treatment of hyperlipidaemia: Initiation of PCSK9 monoclonal antibodies utilising a multi-disciplinary approach – Royal Brompton & Harefield NHS FT
  • Consensus based national antimicrobial stewardship competencies for UK undergraduate healthcare professional education – Cardiff University / University of Birmingham
  • A Progressive Resistance Strength Training Group for Children with Cerebral Palsy – Poole Hospital
