Online resources – Wot Wud U Do?

Wot Wud U Do is an interactive and thought provoking resource, designed to help professionals to educate the younger generation on topics that impact them daily, such as mental health, relationships and sex. 

Their vision is simple; to change how young people think when confronted with day to day challenges on mental health, relationships and/or sex. They support their vision with three main aims, which are:

  • To educate young people to think critically when it comes to making decisions
  • To raise their awareness of how their level of self-esteem affects their ability to make decisions
  • To stimulate a lively debate within the classroom by simply asking ‘Wot Wud U Do’.

Renee McGregor

Renee McGregor is a leading Sports dietitian, specialising in Eating Disorders, REDs, The Female Athlete, Athlete health and performance. 

Her practice and knowledge is supported by extensive experience of working in both clinical and performance nutrition, including Olympic (London, 2012), Paralympic (Rio, 2016) and Commonwealth (Queensland, 2018) teams.

She is presently working with a number of national governing bodies including Scottish Gymnastics, The GB 24 hour Running squad, Scottish Ballet, Women’s Reading Football and England National Ballet. She has also provided CPD to The Welsh Institute of Sport and Sports Institute, Northern Ireland.

On top of this Renee is the Diet Lead for global ultra-marathon events series Ultra X, part of the Stylist Strong Women series and an ambassador for Bath MIND Charity. 

She is regularly asked to work directly with high performing and professional athletes that have developed a dysfunctional relationship with food that is impacting their performance, health and career.

SAM is an app to help you understand and manage anxiety. The app has been developed in collaboration with a research team from UWE, Bristol.

SAM will help you to understand what causes your anxiety, monitor your anxious thoughts and behaviour over time and manage your anxiety through self-help exercises and private reflection.

Online resources – Hub of Hope

The Hub of Hope is the UK’s leading mental health support database. It is provided by national mental health charity, Chasing the Stigma, and brings local, national, peer, community, charity, private and NHS mental health support and services together in one place for the first time.

Initially a simple spreadsheet of local services populated at the kitchen table of Chasing the Stigma founder and CEO, Jake Mills, the Hub of Hope was born out of Jake’s own lived experience of extreme mental and emotional distress. He witnessed first-hand the difficulties in finding relevant, accessible and nearby support when it was most needed and decided to take action.

To date, the Hub of Hope has directed hundreds of thousands of people to life-changing and even life-saving support and it is now the UK’s go-to mental health support signposting tool, with thousands of local, regional and national support groups and services listed.

Lancashire Mind is an independent charity, based in Chorley and working for the people of Lancashire, aiming to increase awareness and understanding of mental health and wellbeing across the county.

The charity works with all ages to help people build resilience and understand how to look after their mental health. They offer support to people who are facing barriers to achieving mental wellbeing and help people experiencing a mental health condition to get back on track.
