Gosall Library

LGBTQ+ Book Collection

The Gosall Library has invested in an LGBTQ+ book collection, which is available to view in the Gosall Library and via on online catalogue. The range includes a mix of textbooks, fiction and non-fiction texts to support staff and patients.

Some of the titles include:

  • Transgender Employees in the Workplace: A Guide for Employers
  • Gender Diversity and Non-Binary Inclusion in the Workplace: The Essential Guide for Employers
  • Transgender Health: A Practitioner’s Guide to Binary and Non-Binary Trans Patient Care
  • Understanding trans health: Discourse, power and possibility
  • Supporting Transgender and Non-Binary People with Disabilities or Illnesses: A Good Practice Guide for Health and Care Provision
  • Trans and Non-binary Gender Healthcare for Psychiatrists, Psychologists, and Other Health Professionals
  • Transgender 101 : a simple guide to a complex issue
  • TRANS: Exploring Gender Identity and Gender Dysphoria

Library Opening Hours- Easter

Please be aware that the Lantern Centre- including the Gosall Library – will be closed on Good Friday and Easter Monday (2nd April to the 5th April inclusive).

We would like to wish all our colleagues, friends and family a happy, healthy and safe Easter weekend.

Lunch and Learn

Launching 18th March

We are pleased to announce that our Lunch and Learn sessions will begin on Thursday 18th March; 12pm -1pm, with our first guest speaker- Sam Tyrer. Sam specialises in mental health and has a wealth of knowledge and expertise in this area. Come and listen to what Sam has to say on this topic.

All Library users should have received a Team’s invite for the session. Please email katie.roper@lscft.nhs.uk if you would like to be added to the list. Simply bring your lunch, log on and learn something new.

Sharing Knowledge

Lunch and Learn Project

The library are pleased to announce that our ‘Lunch and Learn’ sessions will commence in March. These 1 hour sessions are an opportunity for staff to listen and learn to a key speaker during their lunch hour, with the hope that you will learn something new . Each month will focus on a different key speaker, with guests from inside and outside the Trust.

All Library members will receive a Teams invite to attend the session live, however sessions will be recorded for those unavailable to watch at their leisure. Please email katie.roper@lscft.nhs.uk if you would like the invite to be extended to you or your team.

E-books

Proquest E-book Central

We are pleased to announce that the Trust now has access to the industry’s premier ebook platform which offers scholarly ebooks from leading publishers. Proquest E-book Central is being trialled within the Trust to allow staff to access over 180 thousand e-books across all disciplinaries.

The platform is accessible with an Open Athens account. Access the platform here: https://ebookcentral.proquest.com/lib/lscbhsft/home.action (please ensure you have logged in with your Open Athens details first).

The platform allows you to search for a given title or browse the collections. From there you are able to read the whole text online, download the book for up to 21 days, or download a PDF chapter.

Merry Christmas

Gosall Library Updates

We just wanted to wish all our friends and colleagues a very Merry Christmas. We know this year is not what we intended, however the dedication and commitment of all the NHS staff within the Trust have inevitably saved hundreds of lives this year! Thankyou for all your hard work, motivation and courage to get through one heck of a year.

This is a small reminder that the Lantern Centre will be closed from 5pm on Wednesday 23rd December and will re-open at 8:30am on the 4th January 2021. The Library team will still be available to contact throughout the week, however this will be with minimal staffing. Please continue to send us any requests to our inbox: academic.library@lscft.nhs.uk and we will try our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
